Here’s a quick run down of exciting new capabilities for your IBM i:

GPG – The GNU privacy guard is a free implementation of the OpenPGP standard and is used to encrypt and sign data. Check out Kevin Adler’s post and video

OpenJDK 11 – OpenJDK is a free and open-source implementation of the Java and Jesse just did yum install of it.

7zip – 7-Zip is a free and open-source file archiver that can open many compressed files you can find out more about it here:

CURL – You can get a version of curl to connect to ssh and sftp URLs

Python SQLAlchemy adapter – A Python SQL toolkit and Object Relational Mapper (ORM) is available that uses ODBC
